Once you've decided what it is you want your fashion business to achieve, you'll need to start planning how to achieve that success - because successful businesses don't just happen!
TIME PLANNING: CRITICAL PATH
It often takes 6 months to get a product from initial idea through the manufacture process and ready for sale - longer for more complicated products or if you're working part time on the project. Make sure you're aware of each of the steps, ask the right questions and make sure you understand the time frame. I always add 2 - 4 weeks onto lead times as a buffer to cover any delays - it's always better for stock to arrive early than late. BUDGETING
People will try to convince you, you need thousands in order to run a successful fashion business, but that's not entirely true. Having a much smaller budget just means you need to plan more efficiently, and put in more time and effort yourself. However if you don't know how to do something it will quickly become clear in the fashion industry and end up costing you more. So, when it comes to technical areas - don't try and cut corners because you will end up costing yourself. If you are wanting to work with a smaller budget, you might be interested in discussing ways to manage your budget with me.
COSTING
